Uponor North America Finance Leader Named CFO of the Year Honoree
APPLE VALLEY, MINN., SEPTEMBER 14, 2022 —The Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal has named John Reutter, vice president, Finance, Uponor North America (Uponor), as one of its 2022 CFO of the Year honorees. This annual award recognizes outstanding financial executives in the Twin Cities, and it is the first time Reutter has been named an honoree.
Reutter was recognized for his leadership in defining and executing the company’s strategic financial approach, especially during the challenges of the past couple of years. Since joining Uponor in 2018, he has led all financial decisions for the company’s North American operations and instituted a disciplined investment strategy, reorganized the Finance team, introduced new technology and processes, and collaborated across functions to positively accelerate operating profits from just over $50 million in 2018 to $100 million in 2021, a first in the company’s history.
In addition to his financial leadership, Reutter assumed the responsibilities of interim president for Uponor North America in January 2022, working directly with the Uponor Group leadership team in Europe to develop strategic initiatives to drive the global business forward through 2023 and beyond.

The Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal introduced its CFO of the Year awards in 2007. Nominations were evaluated by a panel of financial executives, scoring the honorees based on their contribution to company and community. The 2022 CFO of the Year honorees will be recognized at an awards event in November, along with a full profile on each honoree in its publication.
